Infant: 16 weeks to 12 months

Hi, I am Emily Meindertsma. I am a pediatric sleep consultant and physical therapist and it is never too early to start supporting your baby’s sleep. A little education goes a LONG way.

Customized sleep plan for your baby with full support through the process.

I help exhausted parents get their children sleeping through the night. Through a customized sleep plan and support, I assist parents in teaching their children the skill of sleep. This way they have the space to fully enjoy the joys of parenthood.

Is this you???

  • You wake up 2-3 times in the middle of the night to take care of the baby and you aren’t getting more than 3-4 hours of sleep at a time.

  • Your baby won’t fall asleep without you having to hold, rock, or pat them. Sometimes it takes over 30 minutes for them to fall asleep and this leaves you feeling tired & frustrated.

  • Your baby has a hard time sleeping in their crib and typically likes to fall asleep with you in your bed.

  • Your lack of sleep is affecting your day job (coffee please!)  and you know you can’t keep up with waking up multiple times a night.

  • You keep hoping this is just a phase, but it’s been going on for months and nothing you do seems to get your baby to sleep more than 3-4 hours at a time.

  • Your husband is sleeping on the couch or guest room and you’re ready to have him back in your bed. He really wants his wife back.

What if???

  • You had a customized plan on how to get your baby to sleep through the night (Yes…. over 10+ hours!)

  • You were confident that when you put your baby down for a nap or bedtime, you knew they would fall asleep and stay asleep WITHOUT you having to hold, rock, or feed them.

  • You and your husband could finally have your bed back (no more kicks in the back or face).

  • You could feel less anxious about bringing your baby to daycare because you know they can confidently nap without being fussy.

  • Your baby could breeze through regressions, illness, and teething without difficulty because they knew how to sleep.

We can do this all in less than 2 weeks!

Here’s the Problem…

  • There is so much information out there. You keep hearing that your baby should be sleeping through the night and that it is normal that they are not sleeping through the night. You do not know what is true, so you might have bought a book or read a mom blog or two, but you aren’t sure what’s actually important to know.

  • You are a great mom but you’re overwhelmed by everything. You are sleep deprived and you want to be enjoying this exciting stage in motherhood.

  • Society has scared you into thinking that moms don’t sleep, but you know this doesn’t have to be your normal.

I want to tell you, IT CAN BE BETTER! You don’t have to struggle with sleep as a new mom!

Imagine if…

  • Your baby was able to fall asleep without you having to constantly hold them or rock them for hours (no more back pain)

  • You had more time to yourself so that you could workout, call a friend, do laundry, watch tv, mindlessly scroll on your phone, take a long shower, or read a book.

  • Your baby, in a few short weeks, could go to sleep at bedtime quickly and you could have your nights back with your husband (cook dinner, have a glass of wine, watch netflix)

  • You could wake up ready for the day because your baby slept a full 12 hours.

  • You could go on a date night because you knew your baby would stay asleep.

Hi, I’m Emily, owner/founder of Sound of Sleeping. I am a physical therapist and pediatric sleep consultant. I was a mom just like you. I saw others around me having babies and wanted to be as prepared as possible when it came to my newborn. Before my son was born, I educated myself on ideal daytime routines and how to get longer stretches of sleep at night. And, once my son was born, I was so happy I decided to implement everything I had learned. Those stretches at night were EVERYTHING. My son caught on fairly quickly and the whole family was sleeping! We had such a peaceful newborn experience and I want other moms to have that as well.

Overtime, I realized sleep was a big passion of mine which led me down the path to become a sleep consultant. I was talking to everyone about my sleep tips and helping my friends get their little ones sleeping just like mine.

I wholeheartedly believe that a little education goes a long way. I strive to help families get the sleep they need. Sleep is a necessity not optional. We need sleep to learn, grow and thrive. Despite what the world says about being a parent and it being a badge of honor to be tired, YOUR MOTHERHOOD JOURNEY DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY.

IT CAN BE BETTER

Who I work with

  • Pregnant moms

  • Veteran moms

  • Working parents going back to work

  • Stay at home moms

  • Moms of Multiples

  • Type A moms who really want to plan

Some things we will work on together…

  • Creating a seamless bedtime routine which will create the space for your baby to be ready for sleep.

  • Navigating nap schedules and ensuring your baby is on an age appropriate daytime schedule which relieves stress from your day knowing they will sleep.

  • Removing negative sleep associations which are limiting your baby from falling asleep independently. This could be feeding to sleep, pacifiers, rocking to sleep, co-sleeping etc…

  • Teaching your baby how to fall asleep independently and stay asleep through the night.

How it works:

STEP 1

Book a discovery call - on this call, it will give me a chance to get to know you and your growing family. We can discuss your concerns and your family’s sleep goals. I’ll share with you more about my infant program and see if what I offer is a good fit for you. If we both decide to move forward, then I'll send you the contract and invoice.

STEP 2

Once you purchase the plan, I will send you a detailed questionnaire which will allow me to create a personalized sleep plan for your child.

STEP 3

I will create your plan and we set-up a 1 hour phone consultation call to go over every part of the sleep plan and address any questions you may have. This way you are confident when beginning the sleep training.

STEP 4

2 weeks of support from me. I will be your cheerleader, ensuring you stick to the plan and I will address any concerns along the way.

STEP 5

Success! Your child is sleeping 11-12 hours!
